Our shared passion is diving!  One of Roy's passions since his early teens has been photography, so it seems sensible to combine these two passions into a hobby.  Although Cheri has always enjoyed taking pictures, she has always had a great love for the ocean and its creatures.  Now she has discovered she enjoys taking underwater video.  We are from the midwestern area of the United States and have made some fresh water dives locally but make every excuse possible to get to a sea or ocean somewhere in the world.

Having heard Annie Crawley, at Our World Underwater in Chicago Spring 2008, speak on "telling your story", we would like to tell our stories using the tools available to us.  Since learning to dive, we have learned so much about the importance of the seas and oceans to all life on earth.  The learning continues and is the story we want to share.  We hope the journey is entertaining and educational keeping a focus on how fragile our planet really is.

Save the Oceans Educate the World
When the last individual
Of a race of living things breathes no more
Another heaven and another earth must pass
Before such a one can be again

For those of us fortunate enough to dive and see the incredible sites and creatures, we are the ones who need to sprearhead the efforts to save the great waters of the world and thereby, the creatures that call them home.

The key to saving our great bodies of water is through education of people across this great world.  Here are a few contacts we have recently made and their stories resonate with ours:

Annie Crawley has created a series of DVD's aimed at teaching childern to love the oceans and to understand what they stand for.  What better way then to give a loved one a gift and help educate the next generation!  Visit Annie's website for more information on available books and DVDs.

We were very fortunate to hear a talk by Larry McKenna, at Our World Underwater in Chicago 2008,  regarding the plight of the leatherback turtles.  We have never seen one of these magnificent turtles and may never see one unless people and nations step up to save them.  It hit us hard how these creatures help maintain a balance in the oceans by only eating jellyfish.  The implications of loosing this one element in the equation is astounding. Please visit Larry's website for more information on what we all can do to make a difference.
